This afternoon we got out some blue spaghetti for the little ones to play with. The children loved squashing the spaghetti in between their fingers and stacking on top of each others hands.
Yes i know this activity looks messy but children love feeling different textures and even with older children this can extend their vocabulary and thinking skills. By the end of it my floor was a mess and both of them needed a good soak in the bath.

This looks great and just what I was looking for. I am a childminder and have a 1yr old over the next couple of days and sometimes the ole brain cells need a push and this is easy (I have it in the cupboard already although mine will have to be red as I only have red colouring !!!LOL ) Thank you for the inspiration
ReplyDeleteYou are a great mum to let them have fun with blue spaghetti!! Have to confess to not being very "good" with letting them play with messy food - Pip Squeak likes wiping it in her hair!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Kids Get Crafty! Always great to see you there!!!!
Maggy
Maggy it was everywhere!! They both needed a bath. Lucky I had already striped him down to his nappy before we started but I had to scrub it out of his hair. Hey its fun though!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea especially for babies, considering they love to put everything inside their mouth while playing... I also read from a blog at aeioumommy.com where the Mom used rice cereals with colors. well, playing spag can be a mess but sure is more fun! xoxo
