Product Review: Karcher High Pressure Washer

This year I have blogged a few times about our garden and I still have a few still to come as our garden is really starting to transform into my vision the the children. A few weeks ago we were asked if we would like to review a Karcher High Pressure Washer and my thoughts turned instantly to patio area which is in much need of a good clean. We had been thinking a lot lately about borrowing or purchasing one our selves as we have many ideas on how we would use it.

Karcher describe the pressure washer as:
The K2 Premium Home is a lightweight and portable machine, ideal for cleaning all areas around the home. The built-in detergent tank makes it simple to use and easy to switch between a low pressure detergent application and a high pressure wash jet. An upright design, wheels and a long handle makes this machine easy to use and ensures excellent mobility. The on board storage solutions means you trigger gun and accessories are stored neat and safely with the machine. Included with the machine is a trigger gun, 6m high pressure hose, vario lance, detergent suction facility and dirtblaster lance which provides up to 50% greater cleaning power than a standard high pressure lance. The additional Home kit comes with a T50 patio clean and detergent. A pressure switch control switches the motor on and off when the ergonomically-designed trigger gun is pressed and released, whilst an impact-resistant, recyclable plastic casing effectively prevents dirt particles from damaging the motor and pump. All Karcher K2 pressure washers can also be used from a gravity fed harvested water source such as a water butt tap. The K2 Premium Home comes with a 2 year guarantee.

When the washer came it was like Christmas for daddy he could not wait to get it our of the box and give it a try. I managed to hold him off until the weekend and luckily the sun was out, we cleared the patio and I left him to it.

The kit comes with:
  • Mesh water filter
  • Home kit
  • 6 meter hose
  • Vario power adaptor
  • Dirt buster trigger
  • Vari trigger
pressure switch controls the motor when the ergonomically-designed trigger gun is pressed and released, whilst a recyclable plastic casing effectively prevents dirt particles from damaging the motor and pump.

The pump was easy to set up however having not read the instructions properly daddy used the 50% trigger hose on the patio rather than  the 'Home Kit' so guess what the patio cleaning was added back onto his to do list. However it's not really needed I just want to see the difference between the two options. If you look at the picture below you can see the difference before and after. The washer did a fantastic job and the brightness of the tiles really hit's you now when you go into the garden.

The K2 High Pressure washer is easily packed away and can be placed away in a cupboard or hung up in a garage or shed. There is a hook on the back to wrap the cable and hose onto and storage on the back to clip on the accessories.

I have since used the pressure washer to clean the children's outdoor toys and the pushchair textiles.

The Karcher High Pressure Washer RRP is £149.00
