Freedom From the Kitchen Sink.

Sponsored post

As our home has grown in size through childminding and Tinnie coming along I have found my self spending any possible spare time strapped to the sink washing up. I hate this task and I'm constantly being told by James that I am useless at it, I must confess his right and I'm not bothered in the slightest. I would rather do any job around the house but washing up is such a bore.

We have very little room in our kitchen and only renting our property means that moving the kitchen around was never an option to fit in a dishwasher so convincing James to get one and block out the back door was a huge mission. As with a lot of negotiations in our house I thought the best way to combat it would be to discuss how it could save us money in the long run. I had previously heard that a dishwasher uses less water and power to heat but also would mean our work tops are more likely to stay clear. Dish washing Experts .org had a great calculator explaining how much money could be saved and helped to compare dishwashers too.

Thankfully James agreed to the dishwasher when we could afford one. I'm terribly impatient and I cheekily found one on Freecycle which was practically brand new. It's been fitted now for three weeks and I can not live without it. I love that I can hide the washing up away, my work tops have never looked so clean and I can even sanitise the baby toys on a weekly basis. When it first arrived my in laws kindly explained to me what I needed to use. I had completely forgotten about using salt and rinse aid. Since having the dishwasher fitted I have started to notice the ad's on TV about hard water causing lime scale but once I looked into it I now know the reason behind my mother in laws advice.

So I'm now living happily ever after with my beautiful dishwasher and getting to spend lots more time playing with my kiddies.
