Stained Glass Painted Bunting

While the weather is looking gloomy out side you can cheer up your windows or walls with this idea for eye catching stained glass effect bunting.

Since turning the children's art work into bunting I have been meaning to make some more to decorate the back doors which are usually flooded with light in the afternoon's. The idea doesn't actually involve using any glass but instead we used tracing paper to help the light shine through. I cut the triangles out before starting the activity making sure they were all the same size and laid them out on the table with poster paints and cotton wool buds/Q tips.

All the children had the chance to have a go decorating a bunting triangle and using the cotton wool buds was a wonderful way to help the little ones pincer grasp and hand eye coordination. The tracing paper is a little bit more fragile so you would need make sure you keep it in place with blue tac.

Little man was given prompts to help him think of what to paint. He decided on a face and a car. He did really well in controlling the cotton wool bud and enjoyed thinking of the details he could add to his pictures.

Once each flag was painted and dried I laminated them and cut off the excess. The flags were then blue tac to the window but you could also glue gun some ribbon on to the back and then hanging bunting.
