How To Make A Shiny Treasure Basket

There is a wide range of items which can be placed in a treasure basket to capture babies and young children attention and imagination. Changing the objects you include in the basket regularly can keep babies intrigued. One of our favourite themed treasure baskets is filling it with shiny objects.

It only needs to take a few minutes to put together and if you have preschoolers they will love helping you gather objects from around the home to use. A great opportunity for discussing different materials. Items such as these work great:
  • Metal whisk
  • Scourers
  • An old CD
  • Glitter ball
  • Tins and Trays
  • Reflective ornament
  • Different size spoons
  • Bells
  • Bracelets
  • Keys
  • Watering can
  • Measuring cups
  • Foil blanket
  • Pans

Our babies love the ranges of noises that can be made from these objects and get stuck in quickly banging and crashing them together. If your little ones love sorting you could also add a few pom pom to creature some more fun and introducing sorting and counting.

Playful Learners has many sensory play ideas for you to try with your small ones and a great range of baby play activities to help you interact and support them in exploring their senses.
