Ginger Bread Bat Biscuits

Baking is some thing I am trying to do with the children on a more regular basis. This week we tried biscuits. Normally I struggle to find a recipe for egg free biscuits but I recently discovered Nurture Store have some great ones. This is where we found the Ginger bread recipe which we plan to use several times this year, especially with the Festive season not too far away.

This time round we started baking things ready for the Halloween party we will be holding. The only difference we made was adding a little black food paste to add colour to the biscuits. The colouring didn't come out particularly well but the children loved the ghoulish colour.

The children had great fun decorating them with a mixture of red, green and black icing sugar.

We then sprinkled them with red and silver sprinkles. By which point the children were bursting to eat them.

And here they are, the children's beautiful bats biscuits. They were completely gone by the end of the day so they seem to have been a success. We will certainly be trying the recipe again.
