I cut out a selection of paper:
Circles
Rectangles
Squares
Triangles
and supplied little man with:
Scissors
Glue
confetti stars
Pictures of space
Little man quickly got to work by putting glue on his shapes and placing them on the paper.
I think the finished piece looks beautiful. While he was sticking I used the opportunity to drop in the names and colours of the shapes. By the end he was regularly using the words circle and triangle. I plan to do more work like this to help encourage the use of shape language.

So cute. Amazing how the simplest things are often best! My kids would love to make pictures from basic shapes.
