Rangoli Rainbow Rice

This week we have been celebrating Rangoli with the children. I had hoped to get a post like this up a little earlier and ran out of time but the children's work was so beautiful I felt i still needed to share it.

I drew out on some paper plates rangoli designs which the children had picked out from the internet and books we had borrowed from the library. The plates were then placed out on the table for the children to choose from.

Earlier that morning I had baked rice in a variety of colours like I have done before in this post. The children then played with the rice using cups and scoops before I got out the glue and suggested sticking it to the plates.

The children had great fun making the rangoli art and once dried they will be hung from the ceiling.  We would love to hear what you have been doing this year for Diwali.
