Each year we like to try something different something different to send out to family and friends as Christmas Cards. This year I thought we would mix our Christmas cards with a baking idea I have been meaning to try for the last few years.

To begin with we made up a simple biscuit recipe:
  • Butter 125g
  • Flour 250g
  • Caster sugar 60g
We mixed all the ingredients together and cut out the biscuits using two different size cutters.

The hole at the top was made of the stars were made using a straw. Once placed on the baking paper each one had a boiled sweet placed in the middle.

We then baked them on 180 degrees for 10 minutes.

The children were amazed to see the sweets had melted. We left the biscuits on the tray to cool down so that the sweets did not crack or break.

Once cooled we threaded some ribbon to make them into Christmas decorations. We then attached the decoration to the inside of the card with sellotape.
