Introducing...Peanut

Well the house has been very busy over the last few weeks. Christmas has come and gone at the speed of light and we had a beautiful new arrival making this Christmas extra special.

Christmas evening we set off home leaving the children at their grandparents in case I went into labour. For the last two weeks before Christmas I had been begging for this little bundle to arrive and this was the first day that I was quite happy to wait for his arrival patiently. I wanted to go home after a lovely family fun filled day and sleep of the gorgeous roast cooked by my father in law. And that's exactly what happened until 2.30am...

I woke up to my waters braking and screamed at the hubby to grab me a towel. Skipping some gross details we made it to the hospital to get every thing checked out and within a couple of minutes of being there my contractions started. Skipping some more gross details by 5.30am on boxing day morning (yes a three hour labour) Peanut had arrived and was sitting in my arms. He weighed 8lb 3oz and had a beautiful head of hair.

We stayed at the hospital until after lunch time and enjoyed some cuddles before taking him home to meet the rest of the family. Little Man and Lady P were over the moon to meet him and both had a hold. They sat watching him on and off for a view hours and sprung to alert every time he made a noise. I had worried previously that Little man may have his nose put out of joint by the new arrival but he was absolutely fine.

Now almost three weeks have gone by, daddy has returned to work and the children are back to school and preschool. Time has really flown by and order is starting to return to the house although I'll admit I find it hard to put little peanut down. The night time of course are still fun and games with little sleep because he has decided that its much more fun to sleep during the day and be awake at night but I'm sure it won't take long to get him into a routine. Mean while I shall day dream of a good night in an Ibis hotel snuggled up in a fluffy cover and getting to sleep through the night.

I must not complain though Peanut is good as gold and the children have been wonderful with him. I'd like to thank all our family for their support over the last few weeks and being on stand by for his arrival.
