Offer your children a great invitation to explore and create using collage materials to accompany their play dough. This activity is great for encouraging little ones to use their imagination and getting stuck in with malleable materials.
There was no huge set up to this activity, Little Man helped to make the dough using our play dough recipe with me doing the kneading once the hot water was added. He then picked his choice of materials out of the craft cupboard. He spotted a little pot of left over gems and coins from his Birthday party and some pipe cleaner which he always likes an excuse to get out.
Little man rolled out the play dough before making marks with the pirates gold he loved that he could see the pirates skull. He then decorated the skull using the gems.
After pressing the beads and gems into the play dough he would check to see what patterns each made. Afterwards he took the pipe cleaners and wrapped flattened play dough around the pipe cleaners to hide them.
He then got me to hunt through the play dough to find the pipe cleaners. He was so proud of this little game he had made.
