Collecting Natural Treasures with Barny #littleadventures

During the holidays I decided it was time to start making more of a our garden space. After making a few suggestions to the children they picked to make a large bug hotel for the garden. It's a amazing that when they are set a challenge my children can forget all about how cold it is out side!

So first of all we came up with a quick list of what we would need to find and what ever we couldn't find we would need to buy.

We set off wrapped up for the cold weather to see what we could find. We first of all went a long the alley which run near our house. The space is mainly just grass and mud but there are plenty of over hanging tree's which were great for collecting twigs and sticks. Little man even discovered a worm which he picked up and moved to the side of the path where it would be safe.

When we got home we ticked off the treasures we had found.  Although we had quite a collection we decided a trip to a local park and woods could turn up a lot more goodies for us to use. The children loved getting out doors and exploring a different out door space. As we walked through the woods P explored the different plants and trees which Little told me the story of 'Going on a bear hunt'.

We took a break to enjoy some Barny Bear Snacks then set off with the goodies we found in the woods and brought them home. Now all I need to do is dig out the saw, nails and hammer and we will be able to build a beautiful bug hotel.
