Flour play
This is a simple activity if you are looking to introduce messy play activities into your home. In this picture we used a fruit bowl but a good piece of equipment which every home with young children could do with is a cat litter tray. The size is ideal for little children to be able to reach into the tray and also can fit nicely on a high chair.
What you will need:
flour
water
food colouring
decorative sprinkles or glitter (optional)
Directions:
Mix the ingredients together to your chosen consistency.
You can use this activity as an opportunity to discuss texture, colour and sounds.
Nothing quite like playing with flour!! And love the addition of glitter... lovely sparkly fun!

ReplyDeleteJust remember that paper mache is made with the same ingredients, so beware of letting the flour goo dry. It will harden like glue!
