Today we are taking part in the Mommy Play Date, where 100 bloggers will be sharing play ideas to do at home using items from around the house over 100 days. So put down your duster or switch off the TV and get involved in your children's play for at least half an hour a day. Find some great ideas by checking out the Blog Hop, a fantastic resource filled with activities to inspire your own play.
My idea for playing with the children was to get out items from around the house to use as musical instruments such as:
Plastic eggs filled with objects like marbles.
We loved making up our dances and songs using the musical instruments to help make the beat. Little man copied the beat pattern I made and then I copied his. P danced around the room and encouraged Little man to copy her actions. This play idea ended up as such great exercise and fun for all of us. I was shattered by the end but it was perfect to do just before Lunch time so we could then rest and enjoy lunch together.
If your thinking of giving this one a go a couple of things to think about is making sure the play materials are age appropriate. You may wish to stick the eggs together with cellotape and make sure bottles are also tightly sealed.
