Planning for the C word

This time last year I would have been 6 months pregnant with Tinnie. As it got closer to Christmas I grew more and more worried that Tinnie would be born on Christmas day but when the day arrived I tried to relax as much as possible and that evening I was relieved we had made it through the day with out welcoming our little one. However in the early hours of boxing day my waters broke and Tinnie came into the world within three hours.

Why am I telling you all this? Well as you can imagine it can be particularly hard to make a children's birthday special when it come's just after Christmas. Once Tinnie came into the world we started to think of ways we could make it special for him. I came up with the idea that for his first Christmas I would host it at home and that way he would also have his first birthday at home too.

This will mean a few things:
a- I would need to get my bottom into gear finding some Childminding work
b- The house would be majorly busy over the holiday period. That's half the fun though right?!
c- it was time to find my self a new and bigger built-in oven! oh and invest in a much needed dishwasher.

It's a race against time now to get the kitchen sorted in time and I still have big plans on getting a new kitchen fitted as the room needs completely reorganising to make more room and I would love to do it properly so I've been flicking through sites on line eyeing up the cooker hoods and integrated washing machines, as well as pinning the some lovely ideas on pinterest.

With only TWELVE weeks to go we have a lot to go down and I have been building some great ideas for a great Christmas filled with lot's of yummy home cooked treated but most importantly I've already started planning Tinnie's birthday. I have a feeling this twelve weeks will go very quickly so wish me luck!!
