Product Review: Interplay Treasure Box Party

When your planning a child's birthday party there is usually so much that needs doing from sending out the invites to making the party food and even arranging games to keep the children busy. We recently held a pirate party for my son and for a week I was creating games and resources for the children to use and play with at the party. Most nights I was up painting and decorating and pleading friends for their junk modelling materials to make the celebration just right!

A couple of weeks ago I was offer to review a Treasure box decorating kit which came complete with beads for the children to make their own necklaces. Well I couldn't believe it, they were just what I could have done with for little mans birthday and would have saved me a few hours preparation.

Craft Party kits offer an ideal party-time solution for keeping up to six kids entertained. Each contains everything you need for an easy and fun activity that lasts for about 1½ hours. Paint and decorate a cute heart-shaped treasure box and then make a funky charm bracelet to put inside it with the Craft Party Treasure Box Party kit. Use the self-adhesive jewels and paints to decorate the boxes and then create the jewellery to go with them using the beads and charms provided.  The instruction sheet will show you how it’s done and each child can create their own personal gift to take home!
Treasure Box Party is just one of the Craft Party range available from Interplay.
Recommended for ages 5 years and over.
When it came to reviewing the boxes I did what any childminder would have done, I saved them for the half term holidays. They were a great way to keep the children busy. The children who took part were aged between 4-9 years old. Each box was decorated in the children's own individual design using the paint brush and two colours of paint supplied. We left these out to dry while the children got on making the necklaces. Afterwards the boxes were still wet so the children went on to make more jewellery from the craft supplies we already had and we popped them in the boxes too.

I would say the kit last the children roughly an hour but it depends on the age of the children how quickly they could complete it. The kit comes with six boxes and enough charms and beads for all the children to use. The younger children needed some help with the necklaces as expected but they managed with it really well. Afterwards each child had a wonderful treasure/jewellery box to take home to display in their bedroom.

The Treasure Box Party costs £19.99 from Interplay UK.com
